Only smiling faces at the El Cajon Rotary Club!

Dana and Jackie are always ready to help our club members with a smile!
What a great meeting on Tuesday. Here are a few more smiling faces just in case you missed it.
Welcome to our Visitors
David Savage - Dick Savage introduced his son, David, (Middle in picture) to the group. David is a commercial real estate broker working in the Mission Valley area and specializes in apartments. WELCOME DAVID!
OUR PROGRAM TODAY
Thank you to Cindy Knight, Principal of Anza Elementary School, and her presenting students, Stella (4th grade), Noorhan (1st grade), and Bronson (Kindergarden). A big thank you to Tamara Otero for the help in arranging the day.
Cindy shared with our group the evolution of the gardening program that has been established at Anza Elementary School. In fact, she reminded us that the El Cajon Rotary Club provided the first $500 grant to help establish the program. Cindy gave us an amazing amount of information on how the program has grown and how it positively impacts the students, the majority of whom are new to our country.
Although Cindy did a wonderful job, her students were truly the stars of the show.
4th grader Stella, sharing with us about Producers, Consumers, and Decomposers in the natural habitat garden. Great job Stella!
And 1st grader, Noorhan, tells us all about the butterfly and hummingbird garden and the "pollinators". You are so cute and smart Noorhan!
And kindergardner, Bronson, helped by Noorhan, shares his picture and tells us about planting and raising his flower. The "Kinder-garden" was the very first garden planted at Anza.
I couldn't help but be reminded of being a young kindergardner filled with energy and no outlet!
Announcements & Happy 5"s
Bev Ireland - Bev sincerely thanked all of the club members who stepped up and helped her during her incredibly busy time over Valentines Day.
Kristine Costa - Wow, Kristine knows how to bring a tear to your eye (and hers). Kristine shared with us her story of the on again/off again/on again adoption of a Yorkshire Terrier Mix from the San Diego Humane Society when they were inundated with over 150 Yorkie's recently. Thank God for people like you Kristine, and thank you for the wonderful ending to your story!
