WAY TO GO TEAM!
The El Cajon Rotary Club sent a group of club members to Ensenada over this past weekend to help the amazing folks at 1000 Smiles with their quarterly clinic serving the children of Mexico with maxillo-facial deformities.  We had an AWESOME time!

Words To Lead By...!
In life, you get what you put in.  Everything comes back around.

What Happened At the 1000 Smiles Clinic on May 5th & 6th, 2017.

Stu Scott and Jamie Lundy went shopping for all of the food we served to the many talented and dedicated volunteers at the 1000 Smiles clinic in Ensenada over the weekend of May 5th and 6th, 2017.  We served over 100 volunteers on Friday and over 60 on Saturday.
Alison Cummings and Stu Scott eagerly ready to begin the drive down to Ensenada to help out at the 1000 Smiles clinic.
The clinic sets up an area outside where family's check in for treatment on Friday morning.  1000 Smiles conducts a minimum of 4 clinics each year at their facility in Ensenada.  This was reportedly the largest clinic attendance so far.
A group of kids from an orphanage south of Ensenada with their wonderful volunteer leader.  This group came in for basic dental care.  Many of these young people had never received any dental care prior to attending the clinic you support.
You just gotta love this, Right!
Several Rotary Club's in San Diego work together each year to collect stuffed animals at the San Diego County Fair.  These clubs also collect quilts from another group of amazing volunteers.  Many of those stuffed animals and quilts are donated to the children at 1000 Smiles clinics.  Here you can see an example of how this effects a young girl.  It's amazing to see how a simple stuffed animal or quilt can offer such comfort to a young child.  This is not unique.  We see this very often at the clinic.

A picture of the progress 1000 Smiles is making towards the opening of their on-site surgical suite at the Ensenada clinic.  1000 Smiles currently uses the Ensenada General Hospital for their Maxio-facial surgeries.  Unfortunately, the hospital is often unable to offer space to 1000 Smiles.  This causes many surgeries to be delayed.  1000 Smiles is soooooo close to their fundraising goal.  They need about $30,000 to complete the project.  Once done, it will dramatically improve the services the organization provides to the children of Mexico.
Some of the wonderful volunteers at the 1000 Smiles clinic on May 5th & 6th sitting down for a quick bite before getting back to the work at hand.
One of the very talented clinicians taking care of a young patient at the clinic.
This gives you an idea of the activity level and cramped quarters the clinic experiences.  There are 7 or 8 treatment chairs set up in a very small space here.  It's amazing how all of the volunteers and patients are able to accomplish so much!
A patient and dentist getting ready for a look.  OK, Let's get started.  Open wide!
Thank You to
Stu Scott, Alison Cummings, and Jamie & Erick Lundy for your help with the 1000 Smiles clinic on May 5th & 6th, 2017
