On August 27, District Governor Dianne Crawford visited the club and recounted her mother's life work. After her time in the US, she dedicated herself to serving those in need on the Caribbean Island where she was born and to which she later returned.  For her efforts she earned the highest honor a civilian can receive from the French government - the National Order of Merit.

Separated by a vast ocean, Dianne was oblivious to the extent of her mother's endeavors. She was profoundly moved and humbled upon learning her mother's story, which prompted her to reassess her life and ultimately decide to devote herself to service in San Diego via Rotary's initiatives.

Dianne's dedication to service shone through as she presented her vision for her tenure as Governor of District 5340. With a primary focus on membership, she detailed her strategy, which includes initiatives for community engagement, youth empowerment, global outreach, innovation, adaptation, and the growth and retention of members. In her discussion with the board, she extended her support to the club in enhancing its membership and in celebrating the club's illustrious 99-year legacy.
